The Fanfare for Santa Barbara Harbor received its fifth performance on May 1, 2007, by the Seattle Pacific University Brass Choir, under the direction of Brian Chin, at their Brass Exhibition concert.

The fanfare has also been performed in Australia, Missouri, California and Bellingham, Washington.

Song of the Mountains
at Aaron Copland School of Music

The Queens College Chorus, under the direction of Cindy Bell, will perform the Song of the Mountains at LeFrak Concert Hall at the Aaron Copland School of Music in Flushing, New York, in a FREE concert at 8pm on Friday, November 16, 2007, as part of the Society of Composers Region 2 Conference. The piece for choir and piano was premiered in 2004 and revised in 2007. This will be the premiere of the revised version.

Langroise Trio perform & record
String Trio for George Crumb

The Langroise Trio, ensemble in residence at Alberston College of Idaho, performed Bartholomew's String Trio for George Crumb on March 8 and 10, 2007, in Boise and Caldwell, Idaho. The concert also featured music by Francaix, Dubois, Ryden, and the world premiere of a new piece by David Alan Earnest.

In December, the Langroise Trio recorded the String Trio for George Crumb for their new CD to be released in April 2008.

Fourth ASCAP Award!

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers recognized Greg Bartholomew in 2007 with his fourth ASCAP Standard Award.

Voyageur Suite


The Alaska Brass of the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific presented the world premiere of the Voyageur Suite on February 15, 2007. The Black Mountain Brass presented the Australian premiere on March 7, 2007, in Canberra, Australia. The Menlo Brass performed the Voyageur Suite on their Spring Concert on April 21 & 22, 2007, in California.

Connecticut Premiere

CONCORA, Connecticut's premiere professional choir, under the direction of Richard Coffey, performed The 21st Century (A Girl Born in Afghanistan) on February 11 & 12, 2007, in a concert entitled "The Consort of Voices: Songs and Stories of Liberation." The piece is also featured on Concora's new CD entitled "Songs & Stories of Lberation."

North Carolina Premiere

The Ethos Consortium, a professional chamber orchestra and chamber chorus in Charlotte, conducted by Paul E. Oakley, presented the North Carolina premiere of The 21st Century (A Girl Born in Afghanistan) on a concert to benefit the homeless on January 28, 2007.

of The Tree

The a cappella ensemble Crescendo, under the direction of Hugh McDevitt, performed The Tree in concert in Los Altos, California, on March 24, 2007.

The Chamber Singers of the Oratorio Society of Minnesota, under the direction of Laura Leonberger, performed The Tree on May 11 & 12, 2007, in Columbia Heights and St. Paul, Minnesota, on their Spring Bouquet concert.

Dedicated to Richard Hutter, the piece has now received twenty-five performances, including performances in Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Washington State and Ontario.

On the Ground Where We Live
premiered at
Society of Composers Conference

Bartholomew's first work for full orchestra, On the Ground Where We Live, is now available on CD recorded by the Czech Philharmonic.

The piece was premiered on February 10, 2007, at the Society of Composers Region 6 Conference by the University of Central Missouri Orchestra under the direction of Dr. John Rutland.
